Wentworth Institute of Technology is honored to welcome Charlotte Gordon to the Fenway Frankenstein Festival. Gordon is the author of Romantic Outlaws: The Extraordinary Lives of Mary Wollstonecraft and Mary Shelley (2015), which reveals a truly remarkable duo—mother and daughter—each of whom had a profound effect on our political and cultural history. Wonderfully engaging, the book has won numerous accolades, including the National Book Critics Award for Biography. Praising the skill and warmth with which Gordon intertwines these two passionate lives, the Editor’s Choice column of The New York Times Book Review declares, “Gordon salutes her subjects because they ‘asserted their right to determine their own destinies, starting a revolution that has yet to end.’”
Gordon will be speaking in Watson Auditorium on the Wentworth campus at 6pm on Monday, October 29. This special event is generously supported by the Wentworth Institute of Technology Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Office of the Provost.
